Hello everyone! I really like the video, I’m completely agree with Ken, the system we have today, and we have had since a long time actually, is really depressing. I always watch my niece and think how especial she is and I ask to myself, how long it will be before she lost all their creativity? I wish that the answer were never, but looking the world of these days, there is a lot of chance that it will happen to her. Just like her, I always hear great histories about thing that a child did or said, and I wonder what happened to these kids…
This is one of the main reasons because I have been protesting against the education of today, the quality! I couldn’t possibly be more disagreeing with the way we educated our children in these times, but I not sure of which is the best solution. Anyway, I think that we should probe different methods until we found the best one. Like the Montessori schools, there are people trying to make thing better, why do we have to settle for this system?
Finally, I would like to tell you about a recent news I have heard. It is about the ADHD, said to be FAKE! As you are all psychology students, it might interest you ;) here is the link:

See you! :)

My presentation :)

Hi! Last Monday I talked about the plant-based products marketed in Chile, and how they are regulated. I told you that all of them have an active ingredient, but some of them are overseen by the ISP (Public Health Institute of Chile) and the rest of them by the Health SEREMI (Health Ministerial Regional Secretariat of Chile). The products controlled by the ISP are guaranteed that they have all they tests approved (clinical, physical, chemical, etc), and that they contains a certain amount of an active ingredient, which must be well defined (with the complete formula and monograph). The products regulated by the SEREMI, just must have the sanitary conditions to be approve.
The ones that are regulated by the ISP are the phytodrugs, drugs and cosmetic Products; By the SEREMI are the traditional herbal medicines, herbs and spices (seasonings), food supplements and foods for athletes.
I chose this topic, because I want you to know how works the system here, related to plant-based products, which I think is a problem here. I mentioned in class that in USA all this products are regulated by de FDA (Food and Drug Administration), which is like the ISP. We should have scientific studies, for information on its activity and toxicity, of all plant drugs.
I think I could organized a little better the presentation, but in general it was OK; I could express myself better.
I think it is interesting to you to know this because when you want to buy some product, you will know if it will really work for you.
See you!

The big city

Hi guys, I think I haven’t told you before, but I am not from Santiago. I have been living here since I start University at 2009, before I lived in Antofagasta. So, today I will talk to you about the capital.
When I was about to come here, I was afraid of the Transantiago system, because all I knew about that was the awful images that the TV showed. Surprisingly I have liked it since I get here. I love that I can easily look for the routes and the stops of the buses here, so I can go to a place that I have never been before without getting lost. Another thing I like is that all the international things that come to Chile or all the important exhibitions in the country, are here. I don’t like the centralism, but as I happen to be here, I take advantage of that.
I think the main change that the city needs is to give off the centralism, especially because of the air pollution. I will love to see a cycle path in every street of Santiago. Well, at least in the most important streets.
I certainly will have to said to a visitor that he should be very careful with her stuffs, but at the same time, that try not to be so mistrustful with the people, because there are a lot of good people here J
